February 22, 2014-The undefeated Emporia State men's tennis team will begin their spring season on Saturday against McPherson College in Salina, Kan.
The Hornets were 5-0 during the fall portion of the campaign, with wins over Tabor, Newman, Friends, Southwestern and Baker. Newcomer Diego Prudencio has led the way for Emporia State going 5-0 at #1 singles and 3-2Â at both #1 and #2 doubles. Andrew Davids has gone undefeated in both singles and doubles, posting a 5-0 record at primarily #2 singles and teaming with his brother Austin to go 5-0 at either #1 or #2 doubles.
The Emporia State women, who went 5-1 in the fall, are not scheduled to begin play until Feb. 28 when both teams play host to Rockhurst.
