November 22, 2014-Freshman Jacee Kramer had 17 points to lead four Lady Hornets in double figures as #7 Emporia State ran to a 91-40 win over Southwestern on Saturday night in White Auditorium. Every Lady Hornet scored and had a rebound in the game.
The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 14-4 lead with 12:39 left in the first half. The Moundbuilders used a 10-2 run to cut the lead to 16-14 with 9:10 left in the period. A 7-1 run gave Emporia State an eight point lead with 7:25 remaining and a 21-2 run near the end of the half pushed the lead to 25 points with 57 seconds left.
The lead would not be below 19 points in the second half as Emporia State won their 17th straight game in White Auditorium.
Kramer was joined in double figures by Merissa Quick with 14 while Amber Vandiver and Kelly Moten each scored 13 points. Whitney Gordon led the Lady Hornets with nine rebounds as Emporia State outrebounded Southwestern 60-27 on the night. Kramer had a game high six assists. Quick and Vandiver each had four blocked shots.
Emporia State is back in action on Tuesday, November 25 when they play host to Henderson State in a key Central Regional match-up. Tip-off from Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium is set for 7:00 p.m.
