January 4, 2013-The Emporia State men gave up an 11 point lead with four minutes left in regulation then came back from four point deficits in each extra frame in a 104-97 double overtime win at Lincoln.

The score was tied at 13 when the Hornets went on a 10-2 run to take an eight point lead with 9:15 left in the first half.  The lead would grow to 12 points at 33-21 with 4:14 left in the period before settling into a ten point advantage at the break.

The Hornets led 77-66 with 2:03 left when the Blue Tigers ended the game on a 17-6 run.  They tied the game with :00.4 left on a three pointer by Robert Hopkins.

The Blue Tigers scored the first four points of the first overtime and had a 90-86 lead with 29.2 seconds left. Kaleb Wright scored on a layup and one with 19.9 left to pull the Hornets within 91-89.  Following a turnover by Lincoln and a scramble under the Emporia State basket Wright hit a layup at the buzzer to send the game to a second overtime.

Lincoln again jumped out to a four point lead in the second extra frame. Terrence Moore hit a pair of lay-ups to pull the Hornets back into a tie at 95 with 2:27 left. The teams traded free throws for a 97-97 tie with 1:00 left when Terrence Sardin dunked a put back to give the Hornets a 99-97 lead.  The Blue Tigers again turned the ball over and Micah Swank hit a dagger three pointer from the corner with 33.1 left for a 102-97 lead.

Wright led all scorers with 27 points as Emporia State put five players in double figures. Moore added 21 points while Jevon Taylor had 19, Swank scored 15 and Gavin Brown added ten points. 

The Hornets are back in action on Monday night when they travel to Lindenwood.  Tipo-off from Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo. is set for 7:30 p.m.
