September 7, 2013-Emporia State moved to 4-0 on the season with a pair of sweeps on Saturday at the Hampton Inn-vitational in Wichita Falls, Texas. The Hornets posted a 25-21, 25-23, 25-18 win over Southern Nazarene in the morning and finished with a 25-17, 25-23, 25-12 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State in the afternoon.Â
Katie Deutschmann had nine kills on .444 hitting while Josie Williams had a team high 12 kills and Paige Vanderpool added nine kills and 19 digs for the Hornets in the win over Southern Nazarene.
Vanderpool had 11 kills on .500 hitting and Williams again led the team with 13 kills in the victory over Southwestern Oklahoma.
Emporia State is back in action next weekend when they travel to the Peggy Martin Challenge in Warrensburg, Mo.
