September 27, 2013-Emporia State won the first set before falling in the final three in a 3-1 loss at Central Oklahoma on Friday night in Edmond, Okla. Carly Spicer and Courtney Haring both had double figure kill matches, but the rest of the Hornets hit just .091 on the night in the loss.
Emporia State took the first set 25-22 as they hit .372 in the opening frame. Central Oklahoma took the final three matches 25-17, 25-21 and 25-18, holding the Hornets to -073 hitting in the fourth set.
The Hornets wil travel to Pittsburg State on Saturday for another MIAA match. First serve from John Lance Arena in Pittsburg, Kan. is set for 3:00 p.m.
