September 18,2013-The Emporia State Men's Tennis team won the its 2013 season opening dual 9-0 at Emporia's Milton Courts. The Hornets won all three doubles matches and all six singles matches.
Only one of the the singles matches went to a three sets as Rafar Segura defeated Luis Navarette 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-1) in the No. 3 Singles match. Diego Prudencio won the No. 1 singles contest in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.
The men's and women's tennis teams will be in action on September 21. Both squads will travel to Wichita to compete against Newman at 10:30 a.m. and the Friends at 3:00 p.m.
