April 20, 2013-The Emporia State women fell to Washburn 5-3 in the consolation match of the MIAA Tournament in Springfield, Mo. on Saturday.  With the loss the Hornets season likely comes to an end with a record of 13-8.

Somer Schmidt and Tiffany Khounsombath gave Emporia State their only win in doubles with an 8-1 win at the #3 position.

Schmidt also picked up one of two wins in singles play with a 6-4, 6-0 win at #6 while Nicole Jara won at #1 with a 6-0, 6-0 decision.
