April 19, 2013-The Emporia State women's tennis team fell to nationally ranked Central Oklahoma on Friday at the MIAA Championship Tournament. They are scheduled to play Washburn on Saturday morning in an consolation match.
The team of Somer Schmidt and Tiffany Khounsombath battled to a tie breaker before falling 9-8 (7-3) at #3 doubles while the #1 team of Nicole Jara and Taylor Smith dropped an 8-6 decision.
Smith and Khounsomboth fell at #2 and #3 singles respectively to end the match.
Emporia State and Washburn are scheduled to play a consolation match on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
