April 16, 2013-The Emporia State men's tennis team ended the regular season in style with an 8-1 win over Newman at the Milton Courts on Tuesday.
The Hornets swept through the doubles to take a 3-0 lead into singles play. Mitchell Kibbe clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #4 singles in his final match on the Milton Courts.
Emporia State will be the sixth seed on the men's side of the tournament and will play third seeded Southwest Baptist at 9 a.m. on Friday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
The Emporia State women are also the six seed and will play third seeded Central Oklahoma on Friday at 1 p.m. in Springfield.
