March 27, 2013-The Emporia State women's tennis team jumped out to a 3-0 win after doubles and took four of the singles matches to post a 7-2 dual victory at Missouri Western on Wednesday. With the win the Hornets improved to 9-3 on the year and evened their MIAA record at 2-2
The closest match in doubles was Alex Crowe and Kayla Fraley's 8-6 win at #2 doubles. Nicole Jara at #1, Crowe at #5 and Somer Schmidt at #6 took straight sets wins while Tiffany Khounsombath earned a split set win at #3 singles for the Hornets.
Emporia State is back in action on Friday, March 29 when they travel to #35 Southwest Baptist. First serve is set for 1:30 p.m. in Bolivar, Mo.
