February 9, 2013-Rachel Hanf continued her hot play of late with a game high 24 points as the Emporia State Lady Hornets rolled to an 85-54 win over Lindenwood.
The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never trailed in the contest. They later used a 10-0 run to take a 25-4 lead and led 42-20 at the half. The lead reached 41 with 6:01 left in the game before the Lady Hornets settled for the 31 point victory.
Hanf was joined in double figures by Desiree Wylie with 16, Merissa Quick with 11 points and Rheanna Egli with ten. Quick pulled down 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the year while Wylie just missed her second finishing with nine boards.
The Lady Hornets, who moved to 14-6 on the year and 9-3 in the MIAA, will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Central Oklahoma. Tip-off from Hamilton Field House in Edmond, Okla. is set for 5:30 p.m.
NOTES:
Quick had three blocks to take over sole possession of eighth on the Lady Hornet career list with 95 career blocks.
With the win, Emporia State clinched a spot in the MIAA Tournament. They are currently in fourth in the conference standings. The top four team receive a by to Kansas City while the teams that finish fifth through eighth will host a play in game on Tuesday, March 5 against the teams seeded ninth through 12th.
