Emporia State Stays Undefeated in White Auditorium

February 7, 2013-Laura Patrick had 25 points to lead five Lady Hornets in double figures as the Emporia State Lady Hornets defeated Lincoln 85-69 on Thursday night in White Auditorium.

Both teams were hot in the first half, with Emporia State shooting .586 and Lincoln .471 in the opening frame.  The Lady Hornets took control with a 14-5 run over the final 4:50 to take a 50-41 lead in to the half.

Emporia State took a 20 point lead with 8:25 remaining on a Rachel Hanf lay-up before settling in to the 16 point victory.

Patrick was nine of 13 from the field including a five of six effort from behind the three-point line for 25 points. She was joined in double figures by Merissa Quick with 15 points, Hanf with 13, and Desiree Wylie and Sarah Wood with 11 points each.  Wylie and Quick each had a game high eight rebounds.

The Lady Hornets have a short turnaround before playing Lindenwood on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in White Auditorium.

NOTES:
Emporia State played without senior Jocelyn Cummings who missed the game with an illness.
Merissa Quick had three blocks to tie Denisa Svarova for eighth on the Lady Hornet all-time list with 92 blocked shots.
