SWEET 16 MATCH-UPÂ Â
The #4 Lady Hornets will take on another team that advanced to the NCAA Division II Sweet 16 last season when they play host to Midwestern State. The Mustangs were ranked #10 in the WBCA Preseason Poll.

LAST TIMEOUT
The #5 Lady Hornets put six players in double figures in a 107-58 victory over Tabor on Monday night on Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium. The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first 3:07 of the game. Tabor would close to within nine points at 20-11 with 12:20 left in the half before Emporia State went on another 7-0 run and the lead would not drop below double digits the rest of the game. Merissa Quick led Emporia State with 22 points on seven of nine shooting from the field and an eight of eight performance at the line in 19 minutes. Kionna Kellogg had a double double with 16 points and ten rebounds. They were joined in double figures by Haley Parker with a career high 15 points, Rheanna Egli with 13, Laura Patrick with 11 points and Desiree Wylie with ten points.
THE COACHES
Jory Collins is 71-27 in his fourth year as the head coach of the Lady Hornets. He has 12 career wins against Top 25 teams seven wins in the last eight match-ups. This is his 13th season on the Lady Hornet coaching staff and Emporia State has advanced to the NCAA tournament in 11 of those seasons. This is his first meeting with Midwestern State.
Noel Johnson is 75-67 in her sixth year at Midwestern State. This is her first meeting with Emporia State.
ABOUT THE LADY HORNETS
Emporia State is 5-0 with two wins over teams that were in the NCAA Tournament last year and received votes in this year's WBCA Preseason Poll. They lead the MIAA in rebounding and rebound margin. Merissa Quick is averaging 14.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while Laura Patrick is averaging 13.4 points and 6.8 boards per game. All nine active players have scored in double figures in a game this season.

ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
Midwestern State is 3-2 on the season after winning both games in their own Ashbrook Classic last weekend. Seven players have started this season for the Mustangs. Andrea Carter leads the team with 15.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Midwestern State was 26-9 last season and advanced to the South Central Regional Championship game.

This will be just the second meeting betweeen the two schools with Emporia State leading 1-0 all-time.

Michelle Stueve scored 19 points while Denisa Svarova had a double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds as the Lady Hornets defeated Midwestern State 80-73 in overtime at the Holiday Isle Classic in Islamorada, Fla. Â
