Emporia State improves to 8-6 with four-set victory

October 5, 2013 - After dropping the opening set to Fort Hays State the Emporia State Hornets won three straight sets to defeat the Tigers 3-1.

With the 21-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-20 victory the Hornets improved to 8-6 overall and 2-4 in the MIAA. The home win evened the Hornets record at WL White Auditorium to 2-2 and ended a three-match losing streak.

Carly Spicer led Emporia State with 15 kills on .375 hitting while Brianna Kaiser had a double double of 12 kills and 16 digs.  Sydney Hartman came off the bench and had 25 assists in just three sets.

The Hornets next match will take place on October 8, at Missouri Western University. The Hornets defeated the Griffons five-set thriller 3-2 earlier in the season.
