October 12, 2013 - Emporia State defeated the Southeastern Oklahoma State 3-0 Saturday morning in Joplin to finish the MSSU Invitational with three wins. With the win the Hornets improved to 11-7 overall on the season.
Katie Deutschmann and Courtney Haring each had nine kills in the 25-17, 25-19, 25-17 non-conference victory.
Deutschmann also led the Hornets in assits with 16 while Sydney Hartman added 11. Kelly Holden had 10 digs and two service aces.
Emporia State will return to action on October 18, in a home MIAA match against Missouri Southern at WL White Auditorium.
