September 21, 2012- Morgan Buckner hit .409 and had 12 kills to lead the Emporia State volleyball team to a 25-18, 25-19, 25-16 sweep over Central Oklahoma in the home opener at White Auditorium in Emporia, Kan.

The Hornets improve to 7-4, 2-1 MIAA with the win, the Bronchos fall to 4-9, 1-3 MIAA.

Paige Vanderpool recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs hitting .269 for the evening. Courtney Haring led the Hornets with four total blocks and contributed nine kills. Katie Deutschmann accounted for 26 assists and two service aces. Brianna Kaiser was the leader in digs with 19, while Meg Schwartz added another 12.

The Hornets held the Bronchos in check for most of the night, with only six lead changes throughout the night.
Set two saw four lead changes, and saw Emporia State rally from 10-6 down to take the lead 13-12, which they carried through to the end, outscoring Central Oklahoma 12-7 down the stretch. The Hornets hit a match high .424 in set two.

Emporia State hosts Pittsburg State on Saturday to complete its homestand. First serve is at 7 p.m.
