April 22, 2012-The Emporia State women's tennis team fell to Washburn 5-0 in the third place match at the MIAA Tournament on Sunday.

ESU's #1 doubles team of Nicole Jara and Taylor Smith fell 9-8 (7-4) in the closest match of the day as the Hornets were swept in doubles and then lost at #3 and #6 singles.

ESU ends the season 16-8 overall and went 4-3 in the MIAA, finishing fourth in the regular season and post season tournament.
