April 22, 2012-The Emporia State women's tennis team fell to top ranked Southwest Baptist 5-0 in the semifinals of the MIAA Tournament on Saturday at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Mo.  ESU will take on Washburn in the third place match at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

The Hornets were swept in doubles, winning only five games total.  Nicole Jara suffered just her second loss of the season at #1 singles and Tiffany Khounsombath was defeated at #3 singles to end the match.

A Turnpike Tussle for third place in tennis is set for 11 a.m. at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Mo.
