April 16, 2012-Nicole Jara provided the lone bright spot for Emporia State picking up the only win as the Hornet women were beaten 8-1 and the men fell 9-0 at Washburn.
Jara ended the regular season undefeated in dual competition at 18-0 as she defeated Morgan Rainey 6-0, 6-4 at #1 singles. She became the first Hornet to go undefeated in the regular season since ESU joined the NCAA.
The Hornets will head to Kansas City this weekend to play in the MIAA Tournament at the Plaza Tennis Center. The men will be the fifth seed and play at 1:00 p.m. on Friday while the women will be the fourth seed and play at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
