March 16, 2012-The Emporia State women's tennis team opened MIAA play with a 6-3 win at Ft. Hays State on Friday afternoon.
ESU opened the day taking two of three doubles matches before going to singles play. Nicole Jara continued her outstanding season at #1 singles winning 6-0, 6-4 over Camille Caron-Benard. ESU also got wins at #4 by Alex Crowe, #5 by Emily Huston and #6 by Abby Morris.
The Hornets will make their MIAA home debut on Saturday against Southwest Baptist. First serve for both the men and women is set for 1 p.m.
