November 5, 2011 -- The Emporia State volleyball team used 10 blocks and took avantage of 32 Lion errors in a 3-1 victory over Missouri Southern. ESU lost the first set for the second straight night but stormed back for a 26-28, 25-15, 25-23 and 25-22 victory.

Courtney Haring led the team hitting .444 with 10 kills and four blocks on the afternoon. Paige Vanderpool added ten kills for the Hornets and eight digs. Amanda Gerety had a double-double with 28 assists and 10 digs.

Katie Deutschmann had eight kills, 25 assists, five blocks and eight digs. Caitlyn Murray led the way with six blocks hitting .316 as she also added nine kills. Hunter Porter came off the bench and added nine kills with four digs. Meg Schwartz had a match high 28 digs and also added two service aces for ESU.

The Hornets will return to action on Nov. 8 when they face #7 Central Missouri at 7 p.m. from W. L. White Auditorium.
