ESU gets eights blocks in win

November 1, 2011 -- The Emporia State volleyball team only allowed three Southwest Baptist leads on the night as they won 3-0 in their regular season road finale. ESU got eight blocks and used 47 kills to win 25-21, 25-21 and 25-21 over the Bearcats.

Paige Vanderpool hit .393 with 13 kills and seven digs to lead the Hornets. Katie Deutschmann had eight kills and added six assists. Caitlyn Murray also added eight kills and four blocks.

Amanda Gerety had 24 assists while Meg Schwartz added 23 digs and Brianna Kaiser added 11 digs.

The Hornets will return home for their final five contests starting against Pittsburg State on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. from W. L. White Auditorium.
