October 29, 2011 -- The Emporia State volleyball team got 13 blocks as they rolled to a 3-1 win over Northwest Missouri. ESU got six service aces and forced 26 Bearcat errors in the 23-25, 25-16, 25-23 and 25-22 victory.
Morgan Buckner led the way for the Hornets tieing a career high with 15 kills while hitting .440. Courtney Haring also tied a career high with 13 kills hitting .385 for the Hornets. She also added eight blocks and a career high three solo blocks.
Caitlyn Murray also added a career high with 13 kills and hit .345 with four blocks. Brianna Kaiser had the lone Hornet double-double with 10 kills and 18 digs. Amanda Gerety had a career high 49 assists to lead ESU. Meg Schwartz added 18 digs while Kaitlin Stearns had 12 digs and Paige Vanderpool added ten.
ESU will face Southwest Baptist on the road on Nov. 1 with a scheduled 7 p.m. first serve.
