September 2, 2011 -- The #18 Emporia State volleyball earned the clean sweep on day one of the 2011 season with a 3-0 win over Alderson Broaddus at the Lynn Invitations in Boca Raton, Fla. The Hornets outhit the Battlers .318 to .094 in the 25-13, 25-22, 25-20 victory.
Brianna Kaiser led the Hornets in the victory finishing with ten kills on .368 hitting. Paige Vanderpool added nine kills and also hit .368 for the Hornets. Courtney Haring continued her good hitting as she hit .714 with five kills and three blocks. Amandad Gerety added 17 assists while Katie Deutschmann added 12 in the effort. Meg Schwartz added 14 digs.
ESU will face Post on Sept. 3 at 8 a.m. from Boca Raton, Fla.
