Schankie was named the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Hornets 37-31 2 OT win at Central Missouri.  He intercepted a pass and returned it 47 yards late in the game to keep the Mules from scoring and eventually set up a go ahead touchdown for the Hornets.
