In HS
A graduate from Lawrence Free State, Cordes was a member of the Cross Country team that were Kansas High School State champions in 2013 and 2016 as well as runner-ups in 2014 and 2015. As well as being a member of those championship and runner-up teams, Cordes placed as an individual at the State Cross Country meet for three years in a row.

At ESU
Cordes will enter her first year for the Hornets as a transfer from Adams State University. With PR's of 5:20 (1600), 11:10 (3200), and 17:45 (5000), Cordes aims to be a major contributor to the lady Hornets.
