William Goldsmith, earned four varsity letters while playing football at ESU. He also was an all-state selection as well as being selected to the C.I.C. all-Conference team. He also played in the Missouri/Kansas (Mo-Kan) All-Star game in 1946. As is the case to the selected few, possibly his biggest honor was being selected to the Fran welch "All-Time Dream Team" as a center.
Goldsmith played football during 1937, 1939, 1940 and 1946. In 1942-44, he played at numerous Army camps, where the soldiers played Big 10 schools.
