An All-American and all-conference performer for Emporia State, Lett led the Hornets to the NAIA National Championship game in 1989. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round of the 1991 NFL Draft. He would go to two Pro Bowls and won three Super Bowls in ten years with the Cowboys. Lett was named one of the top 50 Dallas Cowboys of all-time during the team's 50th Anniversary celebration.
