Emporia State University Athletics

Dr. Rich served as the Faculty Athletics Representative for 23 years. He was active in intercollegiate athletics on campus, conference and national levels during his tenure. He was the chair of the Athletics Advisory Board from 1990-2013 and helped begin the Faculty Champions Program and Chi Alpha Sigma athletics honor society at Emporia State. He was President of the MIAA in 2001-03 and served as chair of the NCAA Division II Degree Completion Awards Committee from 2001-04. He was awarded the inaugural MIAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Mentor of the Year in 2010. He was a District Chair of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Committee from 1997-99 and was a member of the NCAA Division II Academic Requirements and Initial Eligibility Waiver Committees.
