Chelsey Culp played on the Emporia State University football team from 1924-27 and was a three-year starter. He was named to the all-state team twice, and three times was selected to the all-conference squad. He was the team’s leading rusher three consecutive years, including the school’s only undefeated seasons in 1926 and ’27. In addition to playing in the backfield, Culp also punted, did the place kicking, and played defensive back.
