Cecil Dryer played football and track from 1932-36 and earned all-conference and Little All-American honors. While playing football, played all but one game due to injury in four years. Dryer was offered a contract by the New York Giants and was also selected to Fran Welch’s all-time "Dream Team." Dryer set a conference shot put record in 1936 and placed second at the Olympic trials in the shot put the same year. After his college days, Dryer went on to coach football, track, and basketball at the high school level.
