Emporia State University Athletics

Prophet has been a long time supporter of Hornet Athletics and served as Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) for ESU from 1978-1990. He was responsible for outside oversight of the athletics department and was a liaison between the athletic department and the university faculty. His responsibilities included certification of eligibility and academic support. A 1955 graduate of ESU, he also served as chair of the Athletic Board of Control and was a member of the NAIA District 10 Eligibility Committee.   A professor of biology, Prophet received the two highest honors the University offers for teaching, the Xi Phi Outstanding Faculty Award and the Roe R. Cross Distinguished Professor Award.
