EMPORIA STATE FOOTBALL GAME SUSPENDED UNTIL SATURDAY

Hornets and Mules tied at 24 at the half

September 10, 2015-Severe weather called a halt to the Emporia State football game with Central Missouri on Thursday night.  The Hornets and Mules were tied at 24 at the half when a severe thunderstorm warning was issued and the game went into a delay.  After a one hour and twenty minute delay it was decided that the game would be resumed at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

EXPLOSIVE HALF
The two teams combined for 48 points and 588 yards of total offense in the first half.
Emporia State's Brent Wilson was 20 of 26 for 266 yards with two touchdowns in the opening two quarters.
Central Missouri's Garrett Fugate went eight of 16 for 146 yards and added 101 yards rushing on ten carries in the first half.

COMING BACK
Central Missouri jumped out to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter before Emporia State outscored the Mules 21-10 in the second quarter.
The Hornets scored on their final three possessions of the half, going on drives of 65 yards, 62 yards and 73 yards.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Hornets and Mules will finish the game on Saturday, September 12 at 2 p.m. on Jones Field at Welch Stadium.  There will be no admission charged for Saturday's continued game.  The Watering Hole will not be open however the tailgating lots will be open at 12 noon.
